To Pee, or Not to Pee

Not to air his dirty laundry, but Tonic has some separation anxiety issues. These can cause occasional minor destructions in the apartment, but mostly, it involves wetting in the apartment.

We discovered two things that have really helped us manage the issue.

First, there is Poochie Pants. Tonic has a very charming little Burberry-styled bib overall outfit that he wears when we leave the apartment. While it hasn't really deterred his wetting, it has saved our furniture.

Next, we've discovered a seemingly odd product called "Comfort Zone with D.A.P." The "D.A.P." stands for "Dog Appeasing Pheromone". This is a bottled diffuser you plug into an outlet. In the bottle is a synthetic pheromone that mimics one that nursing dog mothers give off that calms her puppies, helping them to feel safe and secure. Weird, I know. Nonetheless, we plugged in the DAP diffuser, went to work, and when we returned, no wetting. And there was no wetting for several days after that. Granted, Tonic still has his accidents, but this Comfort Zone DAP Diffuser gets my vote.
